McIntosh MAC1900 Recap Kit w/ Instructions Receiver Rebuild Set COMPLETE
Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the McIntosh MAC1900 receiver. This contains new electrolytic capacitors for the 5 plug-in circuit boards, new caps for the two tuner boards, replacements for the other four under-chassis electrolytic capacitors, drop-in replacements for the two main capacitors, and individual capacitors to replace both multi-section can capacitors under the chassis. It also includes replacement transistors for the three preamp boards and four transistors for the amp boards. This does NOT include any output transistors, driver transistors, resistors, lights, or fuses. This kit includes 38 capacitors and 23 transistors. The capacitors are Nichicon, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and Illinois. Many of the capacitors go up in voltage, and some go up in capacitance a bit--the 150 uf caps are replaced with 220 uf, and the 9300 uf main filter caps are upgraded to 10000 uf 80v. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I rebuild McIntosh gear. The new main filter caps are a bit taller than the old ones, and will stick out a TINY bit above the transformers, but will still fit fine. The wood cases will still slide on over these with no issues. The filter caps should fit exactly with no issues, but since the terminal bases are metal it is a good idea to wrap a little bit of electrical tape around the metal terminal bases when installing them. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a moderately complicated rebuild, so you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This is fairly delicate work, so if you're not an experienced solderer this may not be a good idea. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $12, and international is $28.
