Sansui F-2624 Driver Board Rebuild Receiver Recap Kit for 7070 w/ Instructions
Up for sale here is this Sansui F-2624 driver board rebuild set. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild an F-2624 driver board. There are two different versions of the F-2624 driver board. The older one (more common) uses metal bias transistors and the trimmers are 5k and 1k ohms. The newer board (less common) uses 5k and 100-ohm trimmers. This kit has the trimmers for the older board, but I will be glad to swap in 100-ohm trimmers for the newer board, just let me know if you need those. If you're not sure which board you have, just send me a picture and I can tell you. The F-2624 driver board is found in the Sansui 7070, 8080DB, 9090DB, 890DB, 990DB, and QRX-9001, which uses two of them. Over time the driver boards start developing issues with the fuse resistors, varistors, diodes, transistors, and capacitors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes enough parts to replace all the electrolytic capacitors, all the diodes (including the zener diodes), the two glass bead varistors, all the fuse resistors except the two 3.9k that don't need to be replaced, the four trimmers, and all the transistors except the four heat-sinked driver transistors and two metal bias transistors. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are Nichicon PW, Panasonic FC, Nichicon Muse, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the resistors are all new 1% precision resistors, the trimmers are new Bourns trimmers, the diodes are new 1N4148s, and the transistors are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Sansui gear. Doing a partial rebuild of the driver board is a waste of time--you need to replace the fuse resistors, small transistors, AND capacitors, and it's worth doing the diodes and varistors as well, which is why this kit covers all that. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a fairly complicated and delicate rebuild, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester.
