Sansui Eight Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Caps Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Sansui Eight receiver. This is not for the Eight Deluxe, just the regular Eight. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Sansui Eight driver boards, tone/AM board, switch board, phono EQ board, power supply board, and tuner boards, as well as replacements for the three chassis-mount capacitors. This does not include output transistors, lights, or fuses. If you need new output transistors, the correct replacements are four MJ21196G (replaces 2SC1079) and are available here. This kit includes the following: Driver boards: 4 capacitors (Nichicon KL)4 transistors (Onsemi) Phono EQ board: 10 capacitors (Nichicon KL, Wima film)6 transistors (Onsemi) Power supply board: 16 capacitors (Nichicon PW)2 transistors (Onsemi) Preamp/tone control boards:25 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon Muse, Wima film)11 transistors (Onsemi) Tuner boards: 23 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film)5 transistors (Onsemi) Other: 2 main capacitors (Chemi-Con 10000 uf 63v)2 35mm clamps (to install the new main capacitors)1 chassis-mount power supply capacitor (Epcos/TDK 1200 uf 100v, the exact correct size for the original clamp)2 Panasonic film capacitors (bypass caps for the main filters)2 resistors (for the main filters) 2 Kemet safety disc capacitors Instructions These are extremely high-quality genuine parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Sansui equipment. The transistors are the correct subs for the originals, and the capacitors are the same capacitance (uf) and the same or higher voltage, except for the three chassis-mount caps, which go up in capacitance a bit. The original main filter capacitors are 2.5" in diameter, and there are no modern replacements that will fit the clamps without going WAY up in capacitance. The replacements in the kit are 35mm in diameter, and you can either gut the old caps and restuff them with these new capacitors, or you can use the new clamps to install the new main filter caps. You will need to reuse the nuts/bolts and mounting hardware from the old clamps, and will need to drill mounting holes for the new clamps, which should be pretty easy. This kit does not include parts to rebuild the F-1334 "crowbar" circuit, which is in some but not all Sansui Eights. The F-1334 board, if you have it, should just be disconnected and removed from the receiver, rather than recapped. Some Sansui Eights have a relay, though most do not. If you need the relay, that is available here. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want, then go to your cart and click "request total from seller." I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with 60W, 75W, or 100W incandescent bulb. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 13 different values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, and more. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.
