If you can solder and desolder, consider yourself handy in any other way, and are deliberate and thoughtful, you can do this! Any audio gear over 20 years old can benefit from this procedure. Any unit over 30 years old risks failure of other parts without it. Electrolytic Caps drift and fail with time leading to a less detail, transient response, weak bass and mushy overall sound as well as potential failure leading to costly repair.
