Pioneer SX-939 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Caps Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-939. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Pioneer SX-939 power supply board, protection board, amplifier board, phono EQ board, muting board, tuner board, and preamp board, plus it includes upgraded replacement main capacitors and a new relay. This does not include lights, fuses, or output transistors. The correct replacement output transistors are four MJ21195G (replaces 2SA745/2SB541) and four MJ21196G (replaces 2SC1403/2SD388), available here. Please do not buy any of the Chinese output transistors listed on eBay--these are counterfeit and will damage your receiver. This kit includes the following: Power Supply Board: 12 capacitors14 diodes (3 zener)6 transistors Protection Board: 6 capacitors7 transistors1 diode (for the diode mod) Amplifier Board: 8 capacitors6 transistors4 trimmers Phono EQ Board: 11 capacitors8 transistors Preamp/Tone Board:32 capacitors8 transistors Tuner/Muting boards: 23 capacitors 2 transistors 2 new main capacitors (same diameter as the old caps so they will fit the clamps, upgraded uf/voltage rating)2 resistors (for main caps) 2 bypass capacitors (for main caps)1 other capacitor (for light board)Relay w/standoffs Instructions The kit for each board is bagged individually to make things easier. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The main capacitors are Kemet 15000 uf 63v capacitors, the other capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, and Wima film caps at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings, the transistors and diodes are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors, the relay is a new Omron relay, and the trimmers are new Bourns trimmers. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. There are two different versions of the preamp board, and this kit includes enough capacitors to rebuild either one. The main filter capacitors are upgraded from 10000 uf 50v to 15000 uf 63v. This will not overly stress the receiver, and the upgrade is a good idea and will improve your sound. If you would prefer, I can swap in Chemi-Con 10000 uf 80v caps instead, just let me know. I would recommend the Kemet 15000 uf 63v. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb.
