Pioneer SX-9000 COMPLETE Rebuild Kit Recap Set with Transistors Main Caps
Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-9000. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-9000, and includes replacements for all four chassis-mounted capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or any resistors. This also does not include the driver or output transistors. If you need to replace the output transistors, the correct replacements are four MJ21196G (2 per channel), available here. Please don't buy any of the Chinese output transistors on eBay--those are counterfeit and may blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the four main filter capacitors and the four axial under-chassis capacitors. Three of the chassis-mount caps are the same diameter as the old ones, and one is smaller but has a new replacement clamp to assist in mounting it. You may need to drill one or two small holes in the chassis to mount the new clamp. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards, except there are only replacements for Q1/2 on the amp board, and most tuner board transistors are not replaced. There are 4 replacement diodes and 2 replacement dual diodes for the power supply, and 4 trimmers for the amp board. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. The Pioneer SX-9000 was an amazing receiver back in the day, and it deserves a high-quality rebuild. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Panasonic FC, Wima film, 4 Supertech 105°C axial caps, and Epcos and Nichicon KG for the four clamp-mount caps. Transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi. New capacitors are generally the same capacitance, though 3 of the chassis-mount caps are increased from 2200 uf to 3300 uf. Capacitor voltages are mostly increased. The new amp board trimmers are double the original ohm rating, since the increased range is often necessary, and they are smaller than the originals but will fit the board. The Pioneer SX-9000 has a LOT more parts in it than a typical vintage stereo receiver, and they are packed in there really tightly! The SX-9000 is a challenge to work on, and the instructions will explain how to install replacement parts, but will not cover how to access the boards, so you need to have experience working on vintage gear and ideally some experience working on the SX-9000 or similar receivers. This will be a long, slow rebuild. The parts for each board are individually bagged for ease of installation, and the instructions will tell you how the transistors and diodes go in, but there are a LOT of parts to replace here, so if you do not have a lot of experience with vintage gear I would not recommend starting with this one. You should know what you're doing and have a good soldering iron, a desoldering gun such as a Hakko FR-301, and a dim-bulb tester with 60W, 100W, or 150W incandescent bulb. Please see my pictures for details. No generic pictures here--I have clear pictures of the actual parts you will receive. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 38 different values, new 1200v yellow film capacitors at 15 values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, new Wima film capacitors for stereo repair, new 250v yellow film crossover capacitors, and more. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.
