Pioneer SX-790 Power Supply Repair Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Set w/ Relay
Up for sale here is this power supply recap set for a Pioneer SX-790 (same as the SX-780). This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-790 power supply. Over time, the three power supply heat-sinked transistors in the SX-790 run so hot that they often desolder themselves or overheat and die, leading to a receiver that won't come out of protection. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 6 capacitors, 4 transistors, 8 diodes, and a replacement relay. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC and Nichicon PW caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the transistors are the correct Fairchild/OnSemi subs for the original transistors, the diodes are 1N4004s and 1N5404 diodes, and the relay is a new Omron relay. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. This kit is not guaranteed to fix your SX-790 if it will not come out of protection, but it will certainly help it run better, and will fix many non-working SX-790s. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but recapping a power supply is at least mildly complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, as well as a little heat-sink compound.
