Pioneer SX-1050 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap W/ Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-1050. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-1050, and includes the correct size replacement main capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or any resistors. This also does not include the driver or output transistors. Correct replacement outputs are MJ21195G/MJ21196G, available here. Please don't buy any of the fake Chinese "Sanken" transistors on eBay--those are counterfeit and will blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the two main filter capacitors, which are replaced with Chemi-Con 22000 uf 100v caps. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards except the tuner board. Transistors frequently age worse than the capacitors, so you have to replace them when you're doing a rebuild. The kit for the power supply includes replacement diodes and zener diodes, which are important to replace, and the protection board kit includes a new Omron relay. A new Omron LY-2-DC48 relay is included to replace the chassis-mount soft-start relay. It does not have the bottom flanges that the old relay has--you will need to remove the old relay from its plastic case, remove the new relay from its case, and then put the new relay in the old relay's case. It's actually surprisingly easy. You will also receive detailed instructions to help everything go more easily. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Nichicon VY, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and Chemi-Con for the main filters. Transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi. Trimmers (for the amp board) are Bourns. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is fairly complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester. The new main caps use screws that are slightly thicker than the old ones, so you'll need to enlarge the terminals on the receiver in order to accommodate this. You can drill out the old ring terminals and center mounting piece with a 5mm drill bit if you want, or just replace the old ring terminals, or cut the ring terminals open to make them into spade terminals. I have rebuilt a lot of SX-950s and 1050s in the past few years--they're really nice receivers, and aren't too bad to work on. Please see my pictures for details.
