Pioneer KX-440 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Caps Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for a Pioneer KX-440 (aka SX-440). This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Pioneer KX-440 power supply board and main board (with the amplifier section, phono EQ, and preamp section), plus it includes an upgraded replacement main capacitor and 3 other capacitors for under the chassis. This does not include new lights, fuses, or output transistors. The original output transistors are 2SD130, and can either be replaced with 2SD130s (available on eBay) or with TIP41C transistors, which have a different package but can be fitted fairly easily. I have those available here. This kit includes the following: Power Supply Board: 3 capacitors3 diodes (2 zener)2 transistors1 heat-sink w/hardware (not pictured) Main Board:25 capacitors (2 extra to account for variations between different models)14 transistors 1 new main capacitor (same diameter as the old cap so it will fit the clamp, upgraded uf/voltage rating)3 other capacitors & 1 diode (for misc locations under chassis) Instructions The kit for each board is bagged individually to make things easier. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The main capacitor is an Epcos 1200 uf 100v capacitor, the two axial capacitors are Illinois, and the other capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, and Wima film caps at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings. The transistors and diodes are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are not cheap Made in China parts, they are extremely high-quality and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb.
