This listing is for a parts kit for refurbishing classic CARVER THE RECEIVER, MXR-130, MXR-150 and MXR-900 receivers. We have reviewed Service Bulletins from the CARVER Service Center and gleaned information from hundreds of Carver receiver repairs . From this information, we have identified the "weak link" components most likely to fail or degrade the sound quality of your receiver. The refurbishment kit includes the following items: Set of TWO output relays to solve the problem of noise, intermittent output or complete loss of output of one or both channels Tuner trim capacitor. This failure-prone component can cause intermittent operation or complete failure of the AM/FM tuner section. A bad trim capacitor may also cause the station display indicator to show crazy numbers. Power supply resistor. This part was under-rated in the original design and often fails. When it fails, the entire receiver goes dead. Our replacement doubles the power rating of the original. Part is designated as R635 in MXR-130/150. Installation manual that gives detailed instructions with photos, showing how to replace the parts. The instruction manual also shows how to clean the control potentiometers (Volume, balance, tone, etc) and switches for continued, trouble-free operation. The installation manual is a full-color PDF document delivered via e mail. The parts are brand new and will be shipped in protective packaging.
