Marantz 2235B 2238 2240 2252 Preamp Rebuild Kit PE01 Board Recap Transistors
Up for sale here is this PE01 preamp board rebuild set for a Marantz 2220B, 2225, 2230B, 2235, 2235B, 2238, 2240, or 2252 (not the 2220, 2230, 2238B, or 2252B). This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Marantz 2220B/2225/2230B/2235/2235B/2238/2240/2252 tone amp/preamp board. Over time the preamp boards start developing issues with transistors and capacitors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 11 capacitors and 4 transistors. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are all Nichicon PW, Nichicon Muse, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings and the transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi KSC1845FTA and KSA992, which are the correct subs for the original transistors. These are the same parts I use when I rebuild Marantz gear. There's a reason that the professionals use Wima film caps for this board--they just sound better. Also, frankly, "recapping" is a waste of time if you're not going to replace the transistors as well. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you're in there. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but rebuilding a board is at least mildly complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit may not fix your Marantz if it has other issues, but it will definitely help it run better, and should fix just about any preamp board problems. Please see my pictures for details.
