Harman-Kardon 230 COMPLETE Rebuild Kit High-Quality Two Thirty 230A Recap
Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the Harman-Kardon Two Thirty (230) or 230A receiver. Please note that this kit is for the solid-state 230 or 230A receiver, NOT for the 230E or the A230 tube receiver. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the power amp/preamp board and the tuner boards, plus it includes replacements for all of the chassis-mounted axial capacitors and the clamp-mounted cap. Over time, capacitors and transistors start acting up and need to be replaced. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes: Amp/preamp board kit: 29 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film)6 transistors (Onsemi) Tuner boards kit: 7 capacitors (Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Wima film) Chassis-mounted capacitors: 7 capacitors (Supertech axial, 1 Epcos) These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I rebuild vintage gear. The clamp-mounted 2200 uf cap is upgraded to a 3300 uf 100v Epcos cap that is the same diameter, so it will fit the clamp nicely. The original axial capacitors are all replaced with new axial caps of the same capacitance, except the original 2000 uf axial cap (sometimes it's a pair of 1000 uf caps in parallel) is replaced with a new 2200 uf 63v cap. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a moderately complicated rebuild, though it's not too bad, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with a 40W, 60W, or 100W incandescent bulb. The service manual has fairly complicated and poorly-written instructions for setting the idle/bias and DC balance voltages, but they involve an oscilloscope and signal generator. I have written up some instructions that use a multimeter instead, but they are a little tricky, just FYI. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28. If you want to combine shipping with my other items, just use the "add to cart" feature and then go to your cart and click "request total from seller" and I will send you a combined invoice. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 13 different values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, and more. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.
