Pioneer SX Protection Board Rebuild Receiver Recap Kit 737 838 939 1010 850 950
Up for sale here is this Pioneer SX protection board rebuild set. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-737, SX-838, SX-939, SX-1010, SX-850, or SX-950 protection board. Over time the protection boards start developing issues with transistors and capacitors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 6 capacitors, 7 transistors, and 9 diodes (including one for the diode mod). These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are all Nichicon PW and Wima film caps at the correct uf and higher voltage ratings and the transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi KSC2383YTA, KSA992, and KSC2690, which are the correct subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. Just recapping the protection board is a waste of time if you're not going to replace the transistors as well, which is why this kit includes both. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you're in there. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a moderately complicated repair, so you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron.
