Sansui F-1180 Driver Board Rebuild Kit Recap QR-4500 QRX-4500 QRX-6500 QS-500
Up for sale here is this Sansui F-1180 driver board rebuild set. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild an F-1180, F-1180A, F-1180D, F-1180E, F-1180F, or F-1180G board. These boards are found in the Sansui 1000X, 2000A, 2000X, 3300, QR-4500, QRX-4500, QRX-6500, QS-500, and possibly others. Over time the driver boards start developing issues with transistors and capacitors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes enough parts to replace all the electrolytic capacitors, transistors, and the four trimmers. Because different F-1180 variants have different capacitor values, there will be extra parts left over. This kit includes parts to replace all of the transistors, including the bias transistors, but you don't necessarily need to replace those if they are working fine. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are all Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the trimmers are new Bourns trimmers, and the transistors are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Sansui gear. Just recapping the driver board is a waste of time if you're not going to replace the transistors as well, which is why this kit includes both. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you're in there. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but rebuilding a board is at least mildly complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. If you're replacing the bias transistors you will need heat-sink compound and heat-shrink tubing as well. Please see my pictures for details.
