Marantz 2245 2270 Amp Rebuild Kit P750 Board Receiver Recap Small Transistor Kit
Up for sale here is this P750 amplifier board rebuild set for a Marantz 2245 or 2270. This is all the parts you need to rebuild both amplifier boards in a Marantz 2245/2270. Over time the amp boards start developing issues with diodes, transistors, and capacitors. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit is intended to rebuild a working receiver, though it can fix yours if you have issues with the smaller transistors. It does NOT include the larger transistors, so if you need those as well, I have a kit here that includes all the large transistors. That kit is for only ONE amplifier board, so if you want to do both you'll need to set the quantity to 2. This kit includes all 8 capacitors (replacements for all the electrolytic & tantalum capacitors, plus the two 1 uf film capacitors at C751), plus all 14 small transistors (replacements for all the small transistors on the board). It does NOT include any diodes, the larger driver/pre-driver transistors (for H756-H759), the bias transistors, the big white resistors, or any output transistors. I have new OnSemi MJ21195G/MJ21196G outputs listed here if you need them. Each amp board uses 2 (1 pair), and you should replace both if you are replacing any. Please don't buy any of the Chinese transistors on eBay--those are counterfeit and will blow up. If your 2245/2270 has the flat black bias transistors, they're probably fine, but if it has the older round metal 2SC984 bias transistors, those should be updated to more modern ones, so you should buy the more advanced kit, which covers those. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are Nichicon KL, Nichicon Muse, and Panasonic film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings and the transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi and are the correct subs for the original transistors/diodes. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Marantz gear. Frankly, "recapping" is a waste of time if you're not going to replace the transistors as well. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you're in there. If you're having amp board issues, it's very likely to be a transistor issue. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a pretty complicated repair, so if you don't have much experience with this, buy the kit and take it to a professional. You should definitely have a fair amount of soldering experience and have a decent soldering iron, a dim-bulb tester, heat-sink compound, as well as the usual tools.
