Sansui F-2436 Driver Board Rebuild Receiver Recap Kit for Model 881 QRX-7001
Up for sale here is this Sansui F-2436 driver board rebuild kit. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild an F-2436 driver board for a Sansui 881 or QRX-7001. This is not for the model 8080/9090/890/990 driver board--that board is different, and is available here. If you need a kit for the Sansui 8080DB/9090DB, that is different, and is available here. Over time the driver boards start developing issues with the diodes, transistors, trimmers, and capacitors, and often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes enough parts to replace all the electrolytic capacitors, the eight "glass bead" diodes (D01-D08), the four trimmers, and the four differential transistors (TR01-TR04). This kit is designed to rebuild a working or mostly working driver board--if yours has burnt resistors or blown transistors, you will need additional parts, but the kit instructions will talk about the correct transistor replacements. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are all Panasonic FC, Nichicon Muse, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the trimmers are new Bourns trimmers, the diodes are new 1N4148s, and the transistors are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Sansui gear. Doing a partial rebuild of the driver board is a waste of time--you need to replace the diodes, differential transistors, AND capacitors, and it's worth doing the trimmers as well, which is why this kit covers all that. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is a fairly complicated and delicate rebuild, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with 100W incandescent bulb. The instructions will also explain how to fix the hum issue that plagues so many Sansui 881s. This kit may not fix your Sansui if it has other issues, but it will definitely help it run better, and should fix most driver board problems. Please see my pictures for details.
